Abandoned Villages

Chapter 1

Dozens of villages in The Zone had to be evacuated too after the accident in 1986. There were over 100.000 inhabitants evecuated from the area of Chernobyl Exclusion Zone (except Pripyat) in 1986. The authorities told to the villagers the same as to the people of Pripyat - to pack just necessary belongings for couple of days, because they would be able to come back very soon. As you know, it never happened.

Few villages were buried - every house was destroyed by bulldozers and covered by soil. Unortunately (or maybe fortunately), the scientists measured higher values of radiation which was caused by spread dust from buildings demolitions. So they decided to stop this procedure and leave the houses as they were. That's why the most of the villages remained preserved till nowadays. The houses are now in poor conditions, some of them have already fallen down, some of them are quietly waiting for their's destiny, rounded by wild trees and bushes...
